RN – Neuro ICU (Night Shift)

 

Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights — 3x12s
Weekly Hours: 36
Weekly Gross Pay: $2,596
 

Position Overview

A Neuro ICU RN is needed for a fast-paced, high-acuity unit within a Comprehensive Stroke Center and Level I Trauma environment. This role cares for complex neurological and critical care patients, requiring strong assessment skills and the ability to respond rapidly to changes.

Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required per unit policy.

 

Key Responsibilities

Core Clinical Duties:

  • Care for an assigned group of high-acuity patients
  • Document assessments, interventions, and response to treatments
  • Assist physicians with exams, minor procedures, and diagnostic tasks
  • Monitor physiological data and intervene when necessary
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products accurately
  • Collaborate with patients and families on care plans and discharge needs
  • Provide education on hospital procedures and care expectations
  • Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff

General Duties:

  • Perform other nursing responsibilities as assigned

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, critical care practices, and patient assessment
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize care in a fast-paced setting
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work with diverse patient populations
  • Basic computer competency

Education Requirements

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma or compact state)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
