Description

Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Licensed/Registered
Facility: DCH Health System
Duration: 13 Weeks (Travel Contract)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Additional Requirements: 1 weekend per month + holidays as required
Start Date: January 5, 2026

Pay Rate 
Weekly Gross - $2326

Job Description

DCH Health System is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their Inpatient and Acute Care units. The OT will provide high-quality therapeutic services to patients with a variety of medical conditions, including geriatric, neurological, stroke, and amputation-related needs.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, clinically strong, and comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment. Must be willing to float between units based on patient needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized plans of care.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions, treatments, and modalities as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes.
  • Ensure all documentation meets department and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver patient and family education regarding therapy goals and home programs.
  • Support patient care across relevant inpatient and acute settings.
  • Float to various units as assigned.

Required Education

  • Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT)
    (Note: This is listed in the client description – please confirm if this was intended, as OTs typically hold a Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.)

Certifications Required

  • AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification

Licensure Requirements

  • Active Alabama Occupational Therapist License in good standing
  • Must maintain all licensure/registration requirements
  • Preferred: Dual licensure in PT, OT, or SLP (not required)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of OT experience
  • Will consider candidates with 18 months of experience if working under the highest level of licensure
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in the specialty
