Description

Job Description: RN – ICU (Travel Contract)

 

Unit Description / Patient Population

The ICU manages a wide range of complex and critical conditions, including:

  • TAVR, CABG, CVA
  • Respiratory distress, hypoxic respiratory failure
  • TNK, STEMI, CHF, HF
  • GIB, DKA, sepsis
  • Fem-pop, CEA, thoracotomy
  • Pneumonia
  • Ventilator management, HFNC
  • TTM
  • IABP, Impella
  • CRRT

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to complex patient conditions.
  • Utilize advanced ICU equipment such as Impella, CRRT, IABP, ventilators, TTM devices, and more.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in Epic EMR.
  • Maintain compliance with Ascension policies, safety standards, and infection control guidelines.

Required Experience

  • Minimum Experience: 2 years recent ICU experience
  • Prior travel experience preferred but not required
  • Strong competency with advanced critical care interventions

Certifications Required

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS Certification
