Description
Role Summary:
This position combines charge nurse, clinical mentor, and on-shift leadership responsibilities. The RN provides high-quality, compassionate care while supporting staff, promoting teamwork, and ensuring safe unit operations. Responsibilities include patient rounding, addressing service or safety concerns, mentoring team members, and serving as a resource for clinical and interpersonal issues. The clinician will assume charge duties as needed based on census and staffing.
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM start), Every Other Weekend, First to Float
Experience Required: Minimum 3 Years
Certifications Required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
EMR: Cerner
Expectations & Requirements
- Strong central line experience required
- Traveler must be comfortable teaching, mentoring, and spending time with patients
- Must demonstrate compassionate, patient-centered care
- Floating: To other Med Surg units
- Call: If placed on standby, must report within 30 minutes
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift every two weeks
- Holidays: Two major and one minor (per facility policy)
- Orientation: One Cerner shift (if needed) + two unit shifts
