Description
Position: Interventionalist
Location: Billings, MT
Facility: Hospital
Duration: 13 weeks with possible extensions
Shifts: Day 10x4
Pay - $2,080 weekly on W2 + $1246 weekly stipends (Gross weekly - $3,326)
Job Summary:
-Responsible for completing Angiography procedures, scrubbing, setting techniques, and taking images.
Job Responsibilities:
-Maintains up-to-date licensure and certifications required for the position.
-Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to Angio lab policies and procedures and Scope of Practice documents.
-Understands and operates IR equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure that quality images are produced.
-Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
-Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.
-Develops specific knowledge about invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
-Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging guidelines, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC programs, and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
-Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses patient and/or family concerns.
-Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions or incidents.
-Coordinates patient care and communicates pertinent information to other patient care providers following the procedure.
-At the end of the procedure, sutures the sheath in place or removes the sheath and applies pressure to obtain hemostasis.
-Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.
-Transports patients as needed.
-Assists with SIRT Mapping/Treatments.
-Assists with Embolizations.
-Assists with Neph Tube Placements.
-Assists with Biliary Tube Placements.
-Assists with CT guided procedures including drains, biopsies, and ablations.
-Performs Neuro-IR Stroke and Diagnostic procedures.
Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
-One (1) to Two (2) years of vascular or interventional experience.
-Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds appropriately.
-Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
-Ability to interact and communicate effectively with other caregivers and patients.
-Demonstrates understanding of anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning competency.
-Knowledge and adherence to infection control and sterile techniques.
-Demonstrates knowledge in patient education.
-Demonstrates competency in patient care.
-Demonstrates competency in patient identification protocols.
-Demonstrates experience in radiography.
-Demonstrates experience in operating imaging equipment.
-Demonstrates ability to maintain accurate documentation.
-Demonstrates experience in vascular procedures.
-Demonstrates ability to provide life support in emergency situations.
-Demonstrates proper use of body mechanics during procedures.
-Demonstrates experience in performing angiography procedures.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-One (1) to Two (2) years of Angio/Interventional experience.
--Radiation Badge Requirement:
-A personal radiation monitoring badge (dosimeter) is required for this assignment.
-To maintain an accurate and continuous exposure record, providers are encouraged to use an existing badge from a previous employer or assignment when available.
-If a new badge is issued, prior exposure history will not be reflected.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-ARRT (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
-BCLS - Basic Life Support.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-Vascular/Interventional Radiography Certification.
-Relevant State Licensure and/or Certifications.
