Job Description

Boone Health is seeking an experienced NICU Registered Nurse for a 48-hour/week night shift assignment. Previous travel experience is required.

Shift: Nights | 19:00–07:30 (12-hour shifts)

Patient Population & Top Diagnoses

  • Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Prematurity
  • Rule-out sepsis
  • Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)

Special Procedures Performed on Unit

  • Circumcisions
  • PICC line removal
  • Assistance with lumbar punctures
  • Assistance with neonatal eye exams

Common Medications

  • Iron supplements
  • Vitamin infusions
  • Caffeine
  • Antibiotics

Common Equipment

  • Ventilators
  • Giraffe beds/warmers
  • Feeding pumps
  • IV pumps

Float Requirements

RNs may be required to float based on census to:

  • MCH (Mother/Child Health)
  • Postpartum
  • Newborn Nursery
  • House-wide sitter assignments

Required Skills

Line Management:

  • IV insertion
  • PICC/Central line management
  • Arterial line (A-line) management

Airway/Respiratory:

  • CPAP/BiPAP
  • Ventilator management
