Location: LewisGale Medical Center, Salem, VA
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (36 hrs/week)
Experience Required: 2+ years PCU

Facility & Unit Details

• Unit: 631 / East Progressive Unit (PCU), 3rd Floor
• Beds: 15
• Staffing:
  • Days: 3–4 RNs, 2 PCTs, 1 Clinical Coordinator
  • Nights: 3–4 RNs, 1 PCT
• Patient Ratio: 1:4–5
• EMR: Meditech
• Floating: ICU (PCU-type patients), PCU, Med-Surg (5 patients)

Required Skills

• PCU experience
• Cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Chest tube management
• Care of surgical patients (post-cath, post-op, cardiac, lung, ortho)
• Epidurals

Preferred Skills:

• Strong teamwork and communication
• Time management with high patient turnover

• Post cardiac cath
• EP studies
• Device placements
• Groin management
• Chest tubes
• Post-op surgical care
• Critical drips, epidurals, PCA

Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Dress Code
