Description

Responsibilities
• Care for Hematology/Oncology patients, including chemo
• Manage 32-bed unit with ratios 1:5 to 1:6 depending on acuity
• Titrate heparin drips; may start amiodarone before transfer
• Monitor patients via central telemetry communication
• Work with charge nurse who may take light or full assignment
• Collaborate with nurse aides and RT staff (CPAP/BiPAP; high flow on 2N)
• Work 12-hour shifts (7a-7p or 7p-7a); fill schedule gaps
• Follow weekend rotation (every other weekend or 2 per month)
• Float to all Med/Surg units within skillset
• Comply with dress code—solid professional scrubs
• Complete first-day onboarding tasks and 2 orientation shifts
• Adhere to 50-mile rule, fingerprint requirement, flu vaccine requirement
• Use Epic proficiently for charting

Requirements

Experience
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Large-facility high-acuity experience
• Comfortable with lines and chest tubes
• Hem/Onc or chemo experience preferred

Licenses/Certifications
• BLS

Education
• Nursing degree required
