Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit specializing in respiratory care. This unit provides care to a diverse patient population, including tracheostomy and chronic ventilator–dependent patients. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality patient care.

Unit Details:

• 28-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Specialty focus: Respiratory ailments and care
• Patient population includes trach and chronic ventilator patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6
• Floating required based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med/Surg patients with complex respiratory needs
• Manage care for patients with tracheostomies and chronic ventilators
• Perform venipuncture and blood draws as required
• Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and document care accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly in a high-acuity, fast-paced clinical environment
• Float to other units as required to support staffing needs

Required Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific requirements apply)
• Minimum 2+ years of recent Med/Surg or LTACH experience
• Demonstrated experience specializing in trach and chronic ventilator patients
• Minimum 2+ years of recent experience in drawing blood
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and time-management skills
• Ability to handle high patient volumes in a fast-paced setting
