UNIT: Medical/Surgical

Certs Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS 

Experience Required: 1.5 years. Post-op care, Orthopedic experience, TPN, PPN

General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience/NIH assessments, Chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, Cardiac rhythm interpretation, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps, wound care

Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips (Diltiazem), Heparin, blood products, IVF

RN: 1:5

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: General Med/Surg patients – Stroke, CHF, COPD, Respiratory Illnesses, Diabetes, Post-Surgical, Behavioral Health, etc.

Floating: 

Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) -- could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises

If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)
