Camp Nock-A-Mixon is a private, coed, residential summer camp in beautiful Bucks County, PA, just 90 minutes from Philadelphia and Atlantic City, and about two hours from Manhattan. For over 90 years, we’ve created a vibrant and caring community where campers ages 7–16 build confidence, grow socially and emotionally, and experience unforgettable summer adventures. With top-notch facilities, a wide range of activities, and a dedicated staff, Nock-A-Mixon is committed to providing a safe, fun, and meaningful camp experience. We take pride in our tradition, our culture, our very high staff return rate, and the close friendships formed here. Each summer her is truly extraordinary.

 We host around 500 campers ages 7–16, and offer everything from sports and aquatics to arts, adventure, and more. We’re incredibly proud of our consistently high camper return rate (over 95%) and a staff that’s roughly 80% returning each year, proof of the community and spirit that make this place special.

Our Health Center is a standout space. Fully renovated with an addition in 2018 and expanded again in 2021 with a 500-sq-ft covered triage porch complete with sinks, lighting, outlets and all the needed medical supplies. It’s designed to make your work easier, faster, and more efficient. All medical team members live right in the Health Center in private rooms with private bathrooms, AC, and WiFi. The camp owners also reside in the building all summer, ensuring support is always nearby when needed.

Nurses love working at camp. Many describe it as a refreshing, meaningful break from high-intensity clinical environments. You’ll join a team of 6–7 nurses and a rotating physician (typically camp parents who stay for a week). 

Since we’re not a traditional medical facility, there’s no billing pressure or rapid patient turnover. Just a focus on genuine care, connection, and good health practices. Gain confidence and experience or enjoy a less pressure setting. Responsibilities include caring for campers, medical documentation, health promotion, and med pass in our dining hall, which is streamlined through pre-packaged medications and a custom built storage setup.

We build the schedule to support your well-being. Shifts run in 3 or 4 hour blocks, 8 hours per day,  leaving plenty of time to recharge, study for boards, stay connected with home, and simply enjoy camp life. Take advantage of the pool, fitness center, tennis courts, counselors’ lounge, and more. Nurses receive one full day off per week, and weekly laundry service is provided. Our goal: let you focus on nursing and have a fantastic summer right alongside the campers.
