Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Float Pool (Critical Care)
Location: Geneva, NY 14456
Schedule: Night Shift 3x12-Hour (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend, holiday rotation
On-Call: 2 shifts per 4-week period
License/Certification:
- ACLS Certification (Required)
- BLS Certification (Required)
- PALS Certification (Required)
- NIHSS Certification (Required)
What You'll Do:
- Float between ICU, Emergency Department, Med-Surg, and Tele units based on staffing needs
- Provide critical care nursing to patients across all age groups (pediatric to geriatric)
- Manage ventilated patients and respond to cardiac emergencies
- Perform triage and emergency assessments in the ED
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
- Administer medications and IV therapies
- Float between Geneva General Hospital and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital
- Participate in rapid response and code teams
- Document patient care in electronic medical record system
Requirements:
- Active New York State RN License
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Critical care nursing experience required
- Cross-trained or able to work ICU, ER, and Med-Surg units
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications (AHA or RQI only)
- NIHSS certification (AHA or RQI)
- Basic Coronary Care certification (within 6 months of hire)
- CPI certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Comfortable floating between two hospital locations
Preferred:
Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) certification
TNCC certification
Experience with Microsoft Office and EMR systems
Multi-unit float pool experience
