Emergency Department RN | Vermont – 15,000 Annual Visits

Department Volume: ~15,000 visits/year
Patient Population: Adult + Pediatric
Team Structure: ED Physicians, NPs/PAs, ED Techs (LPN/EMT-A), Critical Care Float RNs, Peer Recovery Coaches, Tele-ED
Care Setting: Emergent, urgent, and critical care

Position Overview

The Emergency Nurse functions as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, providing safe, effective, and compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The RN is responsible for triage, initial and ongoing assessments, implementing interventions, and providing discharge teaching for both adult and pediatric patients.

This is an excellent role for ED nurses seeking a stimulating, rewarding practice environment with strong physician and advanced practice provider support.

Required Experience

  • 1–2+ years Emergency Department or Critical Care RN experience (required)
  • Strong assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to care for all patient ages and acuity levels
  • Travel experience preferred but not required

Certifications

Required:

  • BLS (AHA)

Preferred:

  • CEN
  • ENPC
  • STABLE

COVID vaccine is not required, but vaccination status should be noted in the profile.

Shift Details

  • Possible call
  • Possible weekend coverage
  • Standard ED staffing expectations

Submission Requirements

  • Updated resume showing required ED or Critical Care experience
  • Specialty-specific skills checklist (within last 12 months)
  • 2 supervisory references (from the last 2 years)
  • RN license: Vermont or Compact
  • Certifications (do not need to be active at submission but must be willing to obtain)
  • Permanent address for radius rule
  • All RTO included at time of profile
