REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Minimum Years of Experience: 2
Skills: Need acute hemodialysis experience. This day shift position would not need experience with cycler. CAPD experience is helpful.
Night shift RN must be competent with cycler, CAPD, obtaining PD fluid sample, and hemodialysis
Certs: BLS
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP: ACLS and CDN or CNN
JOB DETAILS:
Ratios: 1:1-2
Shift: 12 Hour NIGHTS. 36 hours only
Call Requirement: NONE; depending on PD /hemodialysis night shift census, would be assigned to “task” within Division departments (not patient assignment)
Float Requirement: NOT REQUIRED
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required.
PATIENT DIAGNOSES: End stage renal disease on dialysis, Chronic kidney disease progression to hemodialysis, Acute kidney injury, Peritoneal dialysis failure/infection requiring change of modality to hemodialysis, Transplant rejection requiring hemodialysis.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: Acute Hemodialysis unit 9 stations and one isolation station.
Hemodialysis room two shifts per day, patients transported via Patient Transport requested through Epic.
ICU/PCU and bedside treatments 1:1 (patients on ventilators, titratable IV drips, airborne isolation).
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Must have recent acute hemodialysis with Fresenius equipment and peritoneal dialysis experience with Baxter equipment. Fresenius T, Hemodialysis Machines with CliC and Bibag, Marcor Millenium HX portable reverse osmosis machines.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis and EPIC Dimensions used on unit. Voalte phone to nurse for verbal report.
SCHEDULING TYPE: Self scheduling
UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours; 12 hours ICU/offsite and 12 hours dialysis room/peritoneal dialysis
