Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Night Shift

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team in Hurricane, WV. This 13-week contract offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic ER environment, providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced setting.

Key Details

• Location: Hurricane, WV
• Unit: Emergency Room (5 beds + Endoscopy 2 beds)
• Start Date: January 8, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 pm – 7:00 am)
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; blocked scheduling requests may be accommodated
• Contract Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Charting System: Cerner (preferred)
• Orientation: Start dates held every other Thursday

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care, including triage and patient assessment.
• Administer and monitor continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation.
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias.
• Care for ventilated patients and support diagnostic services such as electrocardiography, respiratory monitoring, nuclear medicine, radiology, suturing, and splint application.
• Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years RN experience, with at least 1 year in ER specialty.
• Licensure: WV or Compact RN license (pending license accepted).
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI (can be completed with Qualivis); TNCC preferred; PALS preferred.
• Additional Requirements: Fit Test, flu vaccine (unless medically exempt).
• Radius Rule: Candidates must live greater than 100 miles from the facility (75–99 miles requires facility approval).
• Other: Permanent employees cannot return as travelers until 3 years after last perm date. Clean license required (no prior suspensions; probations considered case by case).

• Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Emergency triage and patient prioritization.
• Ventilated patient care.
