Position Summary
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses for a Flex Pool role on the night shift. In this position, the RN will float between various medical and surgical units, providing high-quality, patient-centered care while adapting to diverse clinical environments. Candidates must be flexible, clinically strong, and comfortable floating as needed.
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
- Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- No guarantee of hours
- Holiday coverage required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care across multiple medical and surgical units
- Perform assessments, interventions, and documentation in accordance with nursing standards and policies
- Safely utilize equipment such as EMR systems, medication dispensing systems, wound vacs, and chest tubes
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Float to designated units as needed based on patient care demands
Units & Ratios
- Medical Unit: 77 beds | Ratio 1:8 (nights)
- Laulima (Surgical Acute): 18 beds | Ratio 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds | Ratio 1:4
- Ratios may vary due to staffing needs or unexpected leaves
Orientation & Training
- Unit-specific orientation provided for each assigned department
Required Qualifications
- Active Hawaii RN license by start of assignment (travelers without an active HI license must apply upon offer acceptance)
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience (up to 10 years preferred)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
Additional Requirements
- Medical and religious exemptions are not accepted in lieu of documented proof of immunity
- Must be available to arrive the Thursday prior to assignment start for a mandatory employee health appointment on Friday
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
