Mammography Technologist – Day Shift

Position Overview

Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a 13-week assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging department within a nationally recognized teaching hospital.

• Location: 777 North Street, Pittsfield, MA
• Facility: Berkshire Medical Center (298-bed teaching hospital)
• Start Date: January 5, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 8-hour shifts (7:30 am – 3:30 pm)
• Schedule: 40-hour guarantee; weekends and holiday coverage as required
• Orientation: 8 hours, non-billable
• On-Call: None

Requirements

• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years X-Ray experience (with at least 1 year current)
  • Minimum 2 years current Mammography experience
• Licensure: Active Massachusetts license required
• Certifications: ARRT (R), ARRT (M), BLS (AHA)
• Skills:
  • Meditech Expanse experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, PACS applications
  • Proficiency with PACS, HIS, and RIS systems
• Other:
  • Must have own vehicle
  • Permanent address must be included in profile (facility will not consider travelers residing within 50 miles)
  • All RTO must be submitted at time of application (maximum 5 days)
  • Block scheduling requests will not be accommodated

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment and ingenuity.
• Provide proper patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Practice infection control and body substance isolation in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Demonstrate proper operation of PACS, HIS, and RIS computer systems.
• Attend annual mandatory education (bloodborne pathogens, infection control, body substance isolation).
• Maintain department competencies and continuing education requirements for radiology and mammography.
• May assume supervisory or instructional responsibilities as assigned.
