Description

Role: Surgical Tech (Traveler)
Facility: Edwards Surgery Center (Vail Health)
Location: Edwards, CO
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 01/05/2026 or ASAP
Shift: Days
Schedule: 4×10s
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Primary Responsibilities

Apply sterile and aseptic technique per AORN standards
Prepare and verify sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment
Monitor sterile field and initiate corrective action when needed
Assist with Tier 1 surgical cases
Participate in Time Out, briefings, and debriefings
Support patient transport, room prep, and turnovers
Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization
Maintain professionalism and Just Culture principles
Maintain HIPAA compliance

Required Qualifications

Graduate of a Certified or Licensed Surgical Technologist program
Active Colorado Surgical Technologist license (required)
BLS (AHA) required
Working knowledge of English (read/write/speak)
Basic computer skills (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Experience

Surgical Tech experience required
Working toward or competent in Tier 1 surgical cases
