Description

Must-Have Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg Tele experience
- Experience must be within the last 6 months
Strong telemetry skills
- Must be able to read tele strips independently
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of offer
  - Max 2 attempts
  - Failure = DNU for 6 months (CSH AZ & Sac regions)
Pass/Fail SIM Lab on Day 1 of orientation
- Failure = DNU for 6 months
Medication competency
- Able to titrate DOWN ONLY: Amiodarone & Cardizem
Certifications required:
- BLS & ACLS
Cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
- Current driver’s license required at submission

Unit & Work Environment

Hospital Type: Trauma Level I
Unit: MedSurg A3 (formerly C5)
Beds: 32
Patient Mix:
- 80% Surgical (Ortho, Uro, Abdominal, Whipple, Women’s surgeries – no OB)
- 20% Oncology
- High volume elective knee & hip replacements
Ratios:
- 1:4 days & nights
Telemetry:
- GE monitors
- Central monitoring tech reads tele

Schedule & Expectations

Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7a–7p / 7p–7a
Weekend Requirement:
- 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Includes 1 major + 1 minor holiday
Floating:
- Required to MedSurg Tele B2C & B2D
Orientation:
- 2 floor-specific shifts
