NEURO / TELE RN – Unit Notes

Start Date: 1/19 only

Location Requirements

• Local candidates not accepted
• Traveler must live more than 50 miles from the facility

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• No license hits accepted
  • Client will not accept travelers with any prior license hits, regardless of date, nature, or current status
  • Do not submit candidates with known license hits

Unit Details

• Unit Size: 30 beds
• Unit Type: Neuro / Telemetry
• Primary Population: Stroke and seizure patients

Patient Types / Acuity

• Post-ictal seizure patients
• New strokes with q2 hour neuro checks
• s/p TPA/TNK
• s/p craniectomies and burr holes
• Elective VEEG patients (seizures induced on unit)
• Cardiac patients on amiodarone and diltiazem drips
• s/p cardiac caths
• s/p pacemaker/ICD placement
• s/p ablations
• IVIG and plasmapheresis patients
• Overflow Med-Surg patients as needed

Certifications & Skills Required

• BLS
• NIHSS
• 8 hours of neuro education annually
• Strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmias
• Current EKG competency

Scheduling

• Hours: 36 hours/week (guaranteed)
• Weekends: Required, rotating
• Holidays: Required, rotating
• Call: As needed
