Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (Adult, Travel Assignment)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the Emergency Department at Rochester General Hospital. This travel assignment offers the opportunity to provide high-quality care in a Magnet-recognized, state-of-the-art facility. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Scheduling Details

• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:00)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Charting: EPIC experience required
• RTO/Block Scheduling: Requests must be submitted upon submission; limited flexibility
• Call-Off Policy: Client may cancel up to three shifts during a 13-week contract without charges
• Locals: RN applicants within 75 miles not accepted

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN license (pending licenses not accepted)
• Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred: PALS, TNCC

Required Clinical Skills

• IV therapy: blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV initiation/maintenance, IV vasopressors
• CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Care for CVA (stroke), neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury
• Cardiac monitoring: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Emergency care: adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma
• Isolation precautions, triage, pediatric spinal cord injury

Unit Details and Floating

• Ratios: 1:5 (Adults, Geriatrics, all emergency diagnoses)
• Special Equipment: Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, safe patient handling equipment
• Floating: Required within skillset
• Scrub Color: Navy blue and white combinations
