Job Title: RN EP Lab
Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219
Shift: Days. 4X10
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Description:
- The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals.
- The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- The care is culturally based and age specific.
- The RN adheres to American Nursing Association (ANA) code of ethics and to the scope of practice described in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Unit Description:
EP Lab Lab
- The EP Lab has 5 procedure rooms and is staffed by RN’s with critical care backgrounds and radiology technicians.
- We use state of the art technology in the treatment of many types of abnormal heart rhythm disturbances.
- Procedures performed include, permanent pacemaker implants; permanent implantable defibrillators; implantable loop recorders; ablations for atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardias, supraventricular tachycardias, and convergent ablations; left atrial appendage occludes; extractions of chronic device implants; tilt table studies and autonomic disorder testing.
- We are involved in many research studies for treatment of arrhythmias as well.
Staff are highly skilled and able to care for patients at all levels, including ICU patients, VAD patients, & post-surgery patients. - Good outcomes and patient safety are the highest priority and staff are proud of their patient satisfaction scores and low complication rates.
- We work in a fast paced environment and utilize team based nursing in conjunction with EP physicians, anesthesia team, and ancillary departments to provide the highest level of care possible.
Required Skills & Experience:
- The RN demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education
- The RN effectively communicates with peers, utilizes appropriate channels of communication and maintains absolute confidentiality.
- The RN maintains competence and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional growth.
- The RN demonstrates the ability to accept and implement change and the ability to work in a culturally diverse setting.
- Will consider with Cath Lab experience.
Education:
- Diploma of Nursing
- BSN (Preferred)
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Ohio RN License or Compact.
- BLS (American Heart Assoc.)
- ACLS (American Heart Assoc.)
