Schedule & Expectations
- Minimum every other weekend required
- Schedule may be adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
- Must be flexible with scheduling
- No block scheduling permitted for any reason
- Bi-weekly Monday orientations
- Next available orientation: 1/26
Floating
- Floating required to MICU as needed
- Note: Prior section states “Float Required: No”; ICU float to MICU clarified above
Scrub Policy
- Any solid-color scrubs permitted
Facility & Unit Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Experience in a large (500+ bed), teaching facility required
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years is required and non-negotiable
Patient Population & Skills (Must Be Noted on Resume)
- Post-cardiac surgery
- Vascular surgery patients
- Trauma Level I surgical patients
- General surgery
- Neurosurgery
- MICU overflow
- Hemodynamic device experience required
Certifications
- Required:
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) – must be completed prior to start
- Preferred:
- CCRN
Submission & Compliance Requirements
- Complete work history required for submission, including:
- Facility type
- Total bed count
- EMR used
- All employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained
Transportation Disclaimer
- Public transportation is NOT accessible
- Reliable transportation is required
- Personal or rental vehicle strongly recommended
- Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November–April
