Med/Surg Tele RN – Neurosurgical & Surgical Unit (M5 / McClure 5)

Start Date: January 26
Assignment Length: 16–32 weeks
Unit: M5 / McClure 5 – Neurosurgical & Surgical
Schedule: Monday–Sunday per unit needs
Weekends: Minimum every other weekend (schedule may adjust based on patient care needs)
Floating: No
EMR: Epic (experience within past 2 years required)

Position Overview

This role supports a neurosurgical and surgical Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for post-operative and neurologic patients. The ideal candidate has strong telemetry skills, experience in large teaching hospitals, and is comfortable managing higher-acuity surgical and neuro populations in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience

  • Prior travel experience required
  • 2+ years recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
  • Experience in a large, teaching hospital (required)
  • Strong telemetry interpretation and neuro/surgical care skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules based on unit needs

Certifications Required

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)required prior to start

Scheduling & Orientation

  • No block scheduling permitted
  • Bi-weekly orientations on Mondays
  • All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
  • All work history must clearly list:
    • Facility name
    • Bed count
    • EMR used
    • Facility type

Additional Notes

  • Reliable transportation required (public transportation not accessible)
  • Winter driving preparedness recommended (November–April)
  • Must be comfortable committing to the full assignment length
