Description
Travel RN – Neuro ICU - 3137590
📍 Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI
🕒 Shift: Evening/Night | 8 or 12 hrs
• 1900–0730 or 2300–0730
• Weekend rotation & some holidays required
Unit Details
- 18-bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit
- Part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Adult neuro patients including:
- CVA / Acute Stroke
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Post-craniotomy & neurosurgery
- Spinal cord injury
- Supportive leadership & interdisciplinary collaboration
Experience Requirements (HARD STOP)
- Craniotomy & EVD experience required
- ICP or Ventricular monitoring experience required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience (within last 3 years)
- Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
- Epic experience required (preferred within last 12 months)
Certifications
- BLS & ACLS (AHA ONLY)
- NIHSS (preferred)

Neurological
- EVD management
- ICP monitoring
- Hypothermia / Arctic Sun (preferred)
- Lumbar drains
- Post-crani & neuro surgery care
Cardiac/Telemetry
- Basic arrhythmia interpretation
- Must pass telemetry test prior to start
Licensure
- WI RN license or Compact license
- Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility
Floating
- Travelers float first
- May float to other ICUs or locations as needed
