Travel RN – Neuro ICU - 3137590

📍 Location: University Hospital, Madison, WI
🕒 Shift: Evening/Night | 8 or 12 hrs
• 1900–0730 or 2300–0730
• Weekend rotation & some holidays required

Unit Details

18-bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit
Part of a Comprehensive Stroke Center
Adult neuro patients including:
- CVA / Acute Stroke
- Subarachnoid hemorrhage
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Post-craniotomy & neurosurgery
- Spinal cord injury
Supportive leadership & interdisciplinary collaboration

Experience Requirements (HARD STOP)

Craniotomy & EVD experience required
ICP or Ventricular monitoring experience required
Minimum 2 years of acute care experience (within last 3 years)
Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
Epic experience required (preferred within last 12 months)

Certifications

BLS & ACLS (AHA ONLY)
NIHSS (preferred)

Medications

Titrate cardiac & vasoactive drips
Continuous IV sedation & paralytics
Emergency meds
Procedural sedation monitoring

Neurological

EVD management
ICP monitoring
Hypothermia / Arctic Sun (preferred)
Lumbar drains
Post-crani & neuro surgery care

Cardiac/Telemetry

Basic arrhythmia interpretation
Must pass telemetry test prior to start

Licensure

WI RN license or Compact license
Permanent address must be 50+ miles from facility

Floating

Travelers float first
May float to other ICUs or locations as needed
