Radiology (MRI)

Licensing Requirements

Must have Washington State Radiologic Technologist License at time of submittal
Effective July 24, 2025:
- All clinicians performing MRIs must hold the WA Radiologic Technologist License with the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) designation
- Clinicians performing MRI procedures without this designation will be deemed unlicensed

Certification Notes

ARRT (MR) certification required
ARMRIT certification is NOT accepted
A technologist with ARMRIT may meet requirements only if they also take and pass the ARRT MR boards, becoming certified as ARRT (MR)
