Description
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – PACU to provide post-anesthesia care for surgical patients recovering from general, regional, or monitored anesthesia. The RN PACU will closely monitor patients’ vital signs, manage pain, assess airway stability, and ensure safe recovery before transfer or discharge.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia in PACU
• Assess airway, breathing, circulation, and level of consciousness
• Manage post-operative pain, nausea, and other complications
• Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
• Identify and respond to post-anesthesia complications
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative teams
• Maintain accurate documentation using EMR systems
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and recovery
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety, and infection control standards
Required Certifications
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
