Description

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Technician to support our client’s medical facility based in Detroit, MI 48202 . This is a 13 weeks assignment (Possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

 

Job Details:

Job Name: Medical Lab Technician

Location : Detroit, MI 48202

Duration : 13 weeks Contract (Possibilities of extension)

Shift : 8-5 Monday through Friday (Potential Flex hours 9:-5 or 9:30 - 6:00)

Payrate : 35-38$/hr. on w2/Pay Rate is based on experience and educational qualifications.

Notes:

  • Prior experience in clinical labs, handling specimens and comfortable in PPE. A fair amount of testing is prenatal testing. Important: We are looking for a resource with sample receipt and accessioning, and lab bench experience rather than phlebotomy
  • Minimum Experience: 3 - years of experience Certifications: BLS , MLT is plus Technology: Epic, Sunquest CoPathPlush (LIS)

Job Details:

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Associates/ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required. State Medical Technologist license may be required (will be listed in requirement if it s needed).
  • ASCP MLT
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient with computers.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.
  • High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
