Job Title: LPN – Rehab (Travel Contract)
Location: El Paso, TX 79902
Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)
Schedule:
- Night Shift
- 12-hour shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Weekends: 4 weekends per schedule required
- No on-call requirements
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a Rehabilitation unit. This is a travel contract position supporting patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery in an inpatient rehab setting. The LPN will work collaboratively with RNs, therapists, and support staff to provide high-quality patient-centered care.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to rehabilitation patients under the supervision of an RN
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Perform wound care, incision dressing changes, and basic skin assessments
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and use of equipment (Hoyers, wheelchairs, walkers)
- Perform Foley catheter placement and assist with blood transfusions as needed
- Provide tracheostomy care, suctioning, and respiratory treatments per protocol
- Accurately document patient care in Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with therapy teams (PT/OT/ST) to support patient rehabilitation goals
- Maintain patient safety, infection control standards, and unit policies
