Description
Job Summary:
This position provides assistance to the anesthesia department by preparing medications, stocking, ordering, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and stocking supplies.
This position is responsible for monitoring quality control and operation of equipment.
The incumbent is responsible for transporting patient to and from the O.R., handling routine tasks related to patient care, and organizing equipment. null
Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
Cleans, checks, restocks, prepares and maintains all anesthesia equipment and supplies foreach surgical case. Ensures anesthesia machines are in surgical suites. Adds specialty equipment and supplies to suite set-ups. Assists in troubleshooting of equipment. Works closely with Biomed to resolve issues with equipment.
Partners with scheduler and unit management team to anticipate special needs of each anesthesiologist. Responds immediately to requests from the anesthesiologists during cases.
Assists the anesthesiologists in surgical suites as needed, especially during emergencies, difficult intubations, and traumas.
Assists in room turnover and prepares anesthesia equipment for next case. Restocks anesthesia supplies in sterile processing department as needed. Collaborates with other care site staff/departments to support anesthesia supply ordering and inventory.
Assists in general cleanup in Perioperative Services.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need.
May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
One year clinical experience in an accredited hospital is preferred.
Understanding of medical terminology is preferred.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily.

Education:
Required Education:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
BLS - American Heart Association.
