Hours: 36 hours/week

Job Summary

The Sleep Technologist is responsible for conducting comprehensive polysomnographic studies to diagnose sleep disorders. This role includes patient preparation, overnight monitoring, data collection, scoring, and equipment maintenance in a two-bed sleep lab setting. The position supports patient safety, accurate diagnostics, and high-quality sleep medicine services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze, and document patient history and testing requirements
• Educate patients on pre-test, test, and post-test procedures
• Prepare, calibrate, and maintain sleep study equipment
• Apply electrodes and sensors according to established standards
• Conduct polysomnographic studies including PAP titration, MSLT, MWT, and oxygen studies
• Monitor patients overnight and document sleep stages and clinical events
• Implement therapeutic interventions such as CPAP/BiPAP and oxygen therapy
• Score sleep studies and generate accurate reports
• Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
• Respond to patient needs and procedural inquiries professionally
• Maintain CPR/BLS certification

Education & Experience

• Completion of an accredited polysomnography program or AASM A-STEP program
• Less than 1 year of experience acceptable

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – Required
• Current BLS Certification – Required
