LDRP RN – Float (Unit Profile) Certifications: Required: BLS Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE No clinical involvement prior to start Unit Overview: Beds: 15 total (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum) C-Section ORs: 1 Births: ~58/month Patient Population: Primarily OB/Neonates; HTN, GDM Typically do not deliver <36 weeks Ratios (AWHONN): 1:1 for Pitocin, Magnesium, or Insulin drips 1:3 Couplet care Required Experience & Skills: Must read & interpret fetal monitoring strips Critical thinking; quality metrics focus Prior travel experience required Will float to MedSurg & ER as needed Drips: Titrated: Pitocin, Insulin, Magnesium Staffing & Support: Charge Nurse every shift (takes an assignment) CNAs available: vitals, transfers, desk coverage (locked unit), turning/ambulation OB/Neonatologist: Not in-house 24/7 Anesthesia: Not in-house 24/7 RT equipment available (RN troubleshooting only) Monitoring & Systems: Tele/Monitor Techs: No RNs read their own strips Tele monitors: Philips EFM: TraceView / PIP EMR: Meditech Schedule: Days: 06:45–19:15 Nights: 18:45–07:15 Block scheduling allowed | No self-scheduling Weekends: Every other Holidays: Every other Call/Standby: Based on staffing needs Floating: Yes – MedSurg, ER, or as needed Perm staff usually float first Orientation: 3 unit-specific shifts Dress Code: Maroon scrubs provided; RN changes into surgical scrubs on unit Additional Requirements: Radius Rule: 50 miles Candidates cannot have been FT/PT/PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility in past 12 months RTO must be submitted upfront; no additional RTO approved after submission Entered: 12/18/2023
