- Schedule: Day/Evening
- Shifts: 8 or 10 hours
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 0700–1730
- On-Call: Required (weeknights, weekends, and holidays)
- Call Type: CVOR call
Role Overview
This position is for a CVOR Surgical Technologist, functioning as:
- 80% Generalist
- 20% CVOR
Weekday shifts will include both CVOR and generalist cases. On-call responsibilities will be CVOR-focused.
The Surgical Technologist prepares the operating room, maintains a sterile environment, assists surgeons during procedures, ensures patient safety throughout surgery, and manages surgical instruments and supplies. The role involves caring for patients across all age groups, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong experience required in:
- Ophthalmology (Eyes)
- Urology
- Neurosurgery
- Orthopedics
Licensure & Certification
- BLS certification required
- Must be through American Heart Association (AHA) only
Education
- Completion of a Surgical Technologist Program
OR - Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist in lieu of formal program completion
Facility & Traveler Requirements
- Traveler’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the primary work site
- Floating Required:
- Travelers are the first to float based on staffing needs
- Shifts may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization

- Onsite parking available with a permit through UW Transportation
