Position: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 3 per week Certifications Required: BLS & ACLS (AHA) Job Summary: The RRT provides advanced respiratory care to diagnose, evaluate, treat, and manage cardiopulmonary deficiencies per physician orders. Acts as a resource to CRT staff and may lead special projects or initiatives. Key Responsibilities: Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including arterial gases; troubleshoot equipment; initiate respiratory protocols and interventions. Administer medications safely; evaluate effects and communicate patient progress to staff and physicians. Monitor patients’ overall condition; provide recommendations for care. Educate patients and families on self-care and wellness. Complete accurate documentation and maintain equipment and supply inventory. Participate in quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and departmental meetings. Mentor and act as a resource for staff within the department. Float to other departments as needed and may be placed on-call. Other duties as assigned.
