Description

Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Bronx, NY

Job Type: 13 week contract ( Possible Extension )

Start Date: ASAP

Shift: Days, 3 shifts a week

Expected Hours - 12 hours a day, 36 hours a week

Job Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) provides specialized respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients across critical care and emergency settings. The RT assesses, treats, and monitors patients with cardiopulmonary conditions while working closely with physicians and nursing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess and monitor respiratory status
Administer oxygen therapy and aerosolized medications
Manage ventilators and airway equipment
Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs) and interpret results
Provide airway clearance and bronchial hygiene therapies
Respond to medical emergencies and codes
Accurately document patient care in the EHR
Educate patients and families as appropriate

Required Qualification:

State of NY Respiratory License
Registered with NBRC
Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy
Two (2) years’ experience as a Respiratory therapist in NICU/PICU/MICU/ER
AHA BLS and ACLS
AHA PALS
NRP
