Location: Napa, CA

Shift: Mid Shift | 5×8s (2:30 PM – 10:00 PM)

Job Overview
A Clinical Lab Scientist is needed for an acute care hospital clinical laboratory. This role supports a diverse patient population and requires experience across multiple lab disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, blood bank, microbiology, and urinalysis. Local candidates are accepted, and first-time travelers are welcome.
Responsibilities
- Perform moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing
- Conduct specimen accessioning, preparation, processing, and analysis
- Review quality control and ensure accuracy of test results
- Perform blood bank testing including crossmatching and antibody screening
- Conduct hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and urinalysis testing
- Identify organisms and perform culture setup and interpretation
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality assurance, and infection control standards
- Accurately report and document test results using laboratory systems
Requirements
- Active California Clinical Lab Scientist license (required at submission)
- ASCP-MLS certification preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Clinical Lab Scientist experience
- Experience in hospital-based clinical laboratory settings
- Strong knowledge of laboratory quality control and safety procedures
