Job Overview
A Cardiovascular Technologist I is needed to support diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures in an acute care hospital setting. This entry-level to early-career role works under the supervision of a mentor or preceptor and supports both adult and pediatric patient populations. Level I trauma experience is required (Level II may be considered).
Responsibilities
- Assist with cardiovascular and/or radiologic diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders
- Operate specialized cardiovascular imaging and interventional equipment
- Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician review
- Perform post-procedure documentation and quality checks
- Conduct operator-level equipment cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered care
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or higher required
- Graduate of a CAAHEP cardiovascular program, JRCERT radiologic technology program, or completion of a Paramedic training program
- AHA BLS certification required
- Eligibility for ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) within 12 months of hire, or completion of Paramedic program within 12 months
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity and emergent settings
- Strong communication, multitasking, and documentation skills
Scheduling & Call Details
- Day shift, 8-hour shifts
- On-call required (approximately 8 call shifts per month)
- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call
