• General Information
• Beds: 2 Cath labs, 2 Hybrid peripheral/OR
• Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? Tech - Yes, but the tech needs to have Neuro IR experience. Will not accept IR only experience
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Tech - yes
• Travelers must live 100 miles away from facility
• Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler
• Patient Types:
• Discussed during interview
• This traveler will be a member of the Stroke Team - ICU experience is required
• Patient Ratios:
• RN: 1:1
• Required Certifications:
• RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Required Education:
• RN: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
• Skills required:
• RN:
• ICU Experience is a MUST - this position will be a member of the Neuro IR Stroke Team
• Endotracheal ventilation (including basic management and understanding of ventilators)
• Tracheostomy patients (including ventilation through stoma)
• Vasoactive and sedation drips
• Safe use of paralytics
• Set up, troubleshooting, and use of arterial lines
• External Ventricular Drains (including Camino ICP monitoring)
• External Pacemakers
• Chest Tubes
• Swan/Cordis central line catheter use and monitoring
• Recovery and monitoring of arterial puncture sites
