L&D / PP / MB (LDRP) Unit Overview
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years LDRP
Beds: 16 L&D, 13 Antepartum (high-risk), 8 Triage, 32 Postpartum (Mother Baby on separate floor)
OR Suites: 3 (C-sections) | Unit located on 2nd floor
Volume: 4,194 deliveries in 2023 (approx. 320–400/month)
Ratios: AWHONN guidelines followed
Certifications Required: BLS/CPR, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Fetal Monitoring
Common Diagnoses: Preeclampsia, previa, twins, diabetes
Skills Required: LDR care, circulating in OB OR
Drips: Pitocin and insulin (Pitocin typically 1–20 units, may go up to 40)
Staffing & Support:
Charge RN every shift (no assignment unless critical)
CSTs available every shift
OB Laborist, Neonatology, and CRNA in-house 24/7
NICU responds after initial NRP by RN
EFM: Centricity Perinatal (GE)
Scheduling:
Shifts: 06:50–19:20 / 18:50–07:20
Weekends & floating based on unit needs
Floating to Meridian, Nampa, Antepartum, or sitter roles as needed
No call requirement
Travelers rarely scheduled holidays
Orientation:
1 shift each in L&D, Antepartum, and L&D OR
Scrubs provided
