Description
Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department
Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Specialty: Emergency Nursing (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility & Unit Overview
- 21 beds total: 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms
- Patient population: All ages
- Patient ratio: 1:5
- Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
- Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekend hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
- Call requirements: None
- Float requirements: As needed
- Emergency equipment available on unit
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Specialty: Emergency Nursing
- Minimum years of experience: 2 years (higher value taken)
- Required certifications prior to start:
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Stroke Scale
- De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
- PALS
- Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing)
- Must have skills/experience:
- Emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation
- IV therapy and IV drips
- Oxygen demand support
- Blood products administration
- Basic telemetry/EKG interpretation
- Preferred experience: Emergency Medicine and Psychiatric ER experience a plus

- COPD
- Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
- Sepsis
- Cardiac emergencies
- Neurological emergencies
- Stroke

- Scrub color: Any
- Unacceptable attire: No open-toed footwear, no spandex pants, no sweatshirts
Additional Notes
- Orientation is weekly on Mondays
- Travel status requires candidates to be 60 miles or greater from the facility
- No prior travel experience explicitly required for this role
