Travel RN Opportunity – Emergency Department

Location: Sanford, North Carolina
Specialty: Emergency Nursing (RN)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Facility & Unit Overview

• 21 beds total: 12 telemetry beds, 3 behavioral health beds, 5 fast track rooms
• Patient population: All ages
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): Cerner
• Shift: 7 PM – 7 AM
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
• Weekend hours: Every other weekend and some holidays
• Call requirements: None
• Float requirements: As needed
• Emergency equipment available on unit

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Specialty: Emergency Nursing
• Minimum years of experience: 2 years (higher value taken)
• Required certifications prior to start:

  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • NIH Stroke Scale
  • De-escalation training (HWC, CPI, or MAB)
  • PALS
• Education: ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing)
• Must have skills/experience:

  • Emergency nursing, trauma, resuscitation
  • IV therapy and IV drips
  • Oxygen demand support
  • Blood products administration
  • Basic telemetry/EKG interpretation
• Preferred experience: Emergency Medicine and Psychiatric ER experience a plus

• COPD
• Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
• Sepsis
• Cardiac emergencies
• Neurological emergencies
• Stroke

Additional Notes

• Orientation is weekly on Mondays
• Travel status requires candidates to be 60 miles or greater from the facility
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this role
