Description

1. General job duties / types of procedures required: - Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses ultrasound technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/department: - Phillips ultrasound. - Epic EMR.
3. Required skills, minimum years of experience, and education: - Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. - Minimum of 1 year of experience as an ultrasonographer in an acute care hospital setting - Peds/neonates experience preferred
Skills: - Maintains clinical competency as required for the unit including but not limited to age-specific competencies relative to patients growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification and mandatory education and competencies. - Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. - Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. - Ability to perform crucial conversations with desired outcomes. - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. - Ability to problem-solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. - Ability to maintain confidentiality, relevant to sensitive information. - Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. - Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
4. Required licensures, certificates/registrations, and/or life support certifications: - ARMDS-RDMS (AB) (OB-GYN) required - BLS via AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network - Prior certification in neonatal neurosonography or certification in pediatric sonography preferred.

 

Bed size/number of rooms for the department: - 2 ultrasound rooms at each location.
Approximate cases per day for the department: - 10 cases per day, depending on location.

Will float between 4 campuses. Rotating schedule (36 hours/week): Week 1: Sun 0700-1700, Mon 0900-1930, Weds 0700-1530, Thurs 0700-1530 Week 2: Weds 0700-1530, Thurs 0700-1530, Fri 0900-1930, Sat 0700-1730 Float requirements: - They will float to four different locations: West Campus, East Campus, Radiology Plaza, April Sampson Cancer Center (South Campus).
