Description

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurses (ER RNs) for a night shift contract assignment in a high-volume emergency department. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and delivers safe, efficient care to patients with varying acuity levels.

Contract & Schedule Details

  • Assignment Length: 15-week contract
  • Shift: Nights
  • Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours weekly) following the first week of orientation
  • Hours: No guarantee of hours
  • Holiday Coverage: Required
  • Number of Openings: 3

Unit Overview

  • 28-bed Emergency Department
  • Includes 4 trauma bays, 2 behavioral health rooms, and 22 cardiac monitoring rooms
  • High patient volume with rapid turnover

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients of all acuity levels
  • Perform rapid assessments, triage, and emergency interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver timely care
  • Manage cardiac monitoring and respond to critical situations
  • Maintain accurate documentation using the facility EMR
  • Adhere to emergency department protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Licensure & Experience Requirements

  • Active Hawaii Registered Nurse (RN) license required by start of assignment
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Systems & Technology

  • EPIC EMR
