- Strong orthopedic background
- Previous travel experience preferred
Unit Overview
- Department: Operating Room (OR) | OR Tech
- Unit: Surgical Services Floor 2
- Number of Suites: 4 surgical suites + 1 endoscopy suite
- Average Cases Per Day: 8
Certifications & Experience
- Required Certifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Must be NCCT or NBSTSA certified
- Must-Have Skills:
- SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and HLD (High-Level Disinfection) experience
- Ability to clean and turnover ORs
Common Cases / Roles
- Orthopedics: total joints, sports medicine, hand surgery, trauma
- General surgery
- Gynecology (including C-sections)
- Endoscopy (CSTs must assist with SPD/HLD tasks)
Staffing & Leadership
- Manager/Charge Nurse: Both Charge and ANM present for OR
- Orientation: Travelers paired with preceptor; unit norms and system values covered
Shifts & Scheduling
- Typical Shift: Mon–Fri, 8 hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), may adjust as needed
- Weeknight Call: 1 night per week or 4 nights per month (can increase if staffing decreases)
- Weekend Call: 1 full weekend per month (Fri–Sun)
- Holiday Call: Assigned if holiday falls during contract
- Call Response Time: Must be within 30 minutes of hospital
Floating / Additional Responsibilities
- OR team covers endoscopy
- CSTs assist with SPD and HLD (including endoscopy instruments)
- All OR personnel help clean and turnover ORs along with orderly team
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Blue
- Scrubs provided per surgical services attire policy
Systems & Tools
- TDOC for instrument tracking
- ProVation for endoscopy
Other Notes
- Facility has a 50-mile radius rule
- Must receive written notice from clinician confirming:
- Housing has been researched
- Pay package approved
- Committed and understands assignment
- Will sign offer within 24 hours

Annual Wagon Days in early September brings the largest non-motorized parade in the Pacific Northwest to Main Street. It comes complete with marching bands, Basque dancers, western cowboys, wheels and wagons, concluding with a Street Party on Town Square.
