Travel LDRP Registered Nurse- Washington

American Consultants is looking for an LDRP nurse for a contract in Washington.

Job Summary

The Travel LDRP Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to women and newborns throughout the childbirth continuum, including labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn care. This role requires flexibility, strong clinical skills, and the ability to quickly adapt to new hospital environments while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

• Provide direct nursing care during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum periods
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, including fetal heart rate interpretation
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and pain management per provider orders
• Perform newborn assessments, stabilization, and routine care
• Support breastfeeding and provide maternal-newborn education
• Recognize and respond to obstetric and neonatal emergencies
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record

Patient & Family Support

• Educate patients and families on labor progression, postpartum recovery, and newborn care
• Provide emotional support and advocacy throughout the childbirth experience
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesiology, lactation consultants, and pediatric teams

Compliance & Safety

• Adhere to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and infection control standards
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Required

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in assigned state or compact license (if applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP, Labor & Delivery, or Mother-Baby experience
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability skills

Preferred

• ACLS certification
• STABLE, C-EFM, or Intermediate/Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Experience with high-risk obstetrics
