Travel Registered Nurse – Adult Chemical Dependency / Behavioral Health
Location: St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center – D4 Wing
Schedule: 24/7 Unit (rotating shifts as needed)
Assignment Type: Travel Contract

Position Overview
St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for the Adult Chemical Dependency Unit. The RN is a vital member of the interdisciplinary care team and is responsible for delivering comprehensive direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
This role requires strong behavioral health skills, independent clinical judgment, and the ability to float as needed.
Unit Details
- Patient Population: Ages 15 and older
- Common Diagnoses:
- Alcohol dependency
- Opiates, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, and other substances
- Co-occurring psychiatric conditions (depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder)
- Unit Type: Inpatient Adult Chemical Dependency
- Floating Required:
- Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health
- Detox Units
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough admission interviews and physical assessments
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans
- Accurately document patient conditions, care provided, and responses
- Provide patient education and facilitate therapeutic groups
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals
- Demonstrate competency in restraint and seclusion procedures when required
Requirements
- Active RN license (no background or licensure issues)
- Behavioral Health experience – REQUIRED
- BLS certification – REQUIRED
- CPI certification – REQUIRED
- Must be trained and competent in:
- Application of restraints
- Implementation of seclusion
- Monitoring, assessment, and care of patients in restraint/seclusion
