Travel RN Opportunity - Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER)
• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 (candidate to specify preference)
• Number of Openings: 1
• Patient Population: Mainly adults and geriatrics
• Unit Beds: 17
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (approximately 40 visits per day)
• Call Requirements: 24/7 call coverage needed to support daily volume
• Electronic Health Record (EHR): MediTech

Required Experience & Certifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute care facility (ER specialty)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
  • NIH Certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• Licenses: Registered Nurse License (Iowa)
• Background Checks:

  • Iowa SING Background Check (criminal and child abuse portions) required with no exceptions
  • All county and state background checks must be fully cleared prior to start (no instant or statewide searches accepted)
• Other Requirements:

  • Mandatory reporter certification (child and adult)
  • 10-panel drug test including opiates
  • Titers for MMR, Hep B, Varicella, and TB within the last 12 months

• Preferred candidates have prior travel experience and experience in similar-sized facilities
• Start days allowed: Monday or Tuesday
• Work environment: Regional health center with 217 licensed beds offering a variety of services including ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, Sleep Lab, and Pathology
• Community: Ottumwa is a fun river town with beautiful trails, known as the Video Game Capital of the World, and has a low cost of living
