Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Adult Chemical Dependency Unit at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. The RN is responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, documentation, patient education, and group facilitation. The unit provides 24/7 care to patients ages 15 and older with substance dependence and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough admission interviews and systematic physical assessments
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans
- Deliver direct nursing care using the nursing process
- Assess need for involvement of other healthcare professionals and coordinate care
- Accurately document patient condition, care provided, and patient responses
- Provide patient education and facilitate therapeutic groups
- Safely manage patients requiring restraints or seclusion per policy
- Float as needed to Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health and Detox units
Requirements
Experience
- Behavioral Health experience required
- Experience with chemical dependency / detox patients preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- Active RN license (no licensure or background hits accepted)
- BLS certification required
- CPI certification required
- Must be trained and competent in restraints and seclusion application, monitoring, and care
