Required Experience
- Must have experience in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center
- Must have worked in a hospital with 300+ beds
- Level II trauma experience or higher required
- CRRT experience highly preferred

Common Diagnoses / Patient Population
- CRRT (Prismaflex)
- Rotaprone therapy
- TTM (Arctic Sun)
- ECMO (at times)
- Mass transfusions / MTP
- Train-of-Four monitoring; frequent paralytics
- 24-hour EEG monitoring
- EVD and LP drains
- Neurosurgical patients
- Trauma: drownings, tractor rollovers, fractures, MVAs
- Spinal injuries
- Sepsis
- DKA
- Post-operative recoveries
- COVID
- Post–heart cath patients (RNs may pull sheaths)
- SI patients
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Bedside procedures
- Tracheostomies
- Chest tube (CT) insertions
- Bronchoscopies
- Arterial line insertions
- Organ recovery (procurement only; no transplants performed)
Required / Preferred Skills
- Titration of critical drips (required)
- CRRT management (highly preferred)
- Pulling arterial sheaths (preferred)
Common Drips
- Precedex
- Vasopressors
- Antiarrhythmics
- Sedation
- Standard ICU drips (titrated and set-rate)
Staffing & Support
- Charge Nurse:
- Days: Typically a Blessing staff nurse
- Nights: May be the House Supervisor
- Takes a smaller assignment to assist unit
- Nurse Aides: Yes
- Intensivist/Hospitalist Coverage: 24/7 (MD & NP)
- Respiratory Therapy: Assigned 24/7 to ICU/PCU
- Respiratory Equipment: Full respiratory support (vents, CPAP, BiPAP, etc.)
Telemetry & Monitoring

- RN Responsibility: RNs interpret their own strips

Scheduling
- Shifts: 3 × 12-hour shifts (7a–7p / 7p–7a)

About
Quincy is steeped in a rich history, revealed in its more than 3,600 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places.
