Job Description:

Position: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Shift: Days, (5x7) Hour Shifts
Duration: 13-week assignment (extension possible)
Facility: BronxCare Hospital Center – Grand Concourse Campus
Address: Bronx, NY 10457, United States

Travel Pay Rate:

  • Hourly: $30/hr (W2)
  • Weekly Stipend (Non-Taxable): $2,240
  • Total Weekly Pay: $3,440

Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radioactive materials. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining patient safety. The technologist works collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging and therapeutic procedures according to physician orders
  • Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols
  • Operate gamma cameras, PET, and related imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images
  • Monitor patients during procedures and provide clear instructions and reassurance
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and regulatory requirements
  • Accurately document procedures, patient data, and results in the EMR
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and maintain proper records
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to support patient care

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience
  • Certifications Required:
  • BLS
  • CNMT (via NMTCB)
  • License: Active Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (state-compliant as applicable)
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and imaging protocols
  • Performing exercise and pharmacological nuclear stress tests.
  • Responsible for performing radionuclide procedures on patients..
