Job Title: RN – CVOR (OR)
Location: Sandiego CA
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Pay Rate: $80–$88/hour (W-2, All-Inclusive)

Position Overview

Sharp Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (RN OR) to deliver high-quality perioperative care. The RN will collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and individualized surgical care across multiple specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient- and family-centered perioperative nursing care aligned with individualized goals
• Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate care safely and effectively
• Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care (IPOC/IPER)
• Adapt nursing interventions based on patient response, age, culture, and clinical needs
• Participate in patient care conferences and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Educate patients and families using adult-learning principles; assess and document learning outcomes
• Advocate for patients and families, supporting informed decision-making and patient rights
• Communicate patient care needs clearly through accurate and timely documentation
• Delegate and assign care appropriately to healthcare team members within scope of practice
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesia, ancillary staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Support efficient OR workflow and patient progression through coordinated team communication

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong CVOR experience, including open-heart procedures (required)
• Ability to support additional cases when no heart cases are scheduled, including:
  • Orthopedics
  • Neuro
  • Robotics

Licensure & Certifications

• Active California RN License (Required)
• CPR Certification (Required)

Education & Experience Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty RN experience (OR/CVOR)
